VSBC and the Child Development Center held a community wide yard sale today. Several families rented space and tables, concession items were sold, and the CDC was able to sell a good portion of their resources. All money raised from the CDC items, rental and concessions where given to toward meeting some of the final expenses in closing down the center.
There was a lot of foot traffic in the morning and many of the ‘big ticket’ items went quickly. Many day care centers and other ministries in the area, as well as some from outlying cities, were able get a bargain on some much needed supplies and resources. At lunch time, hot dogs and hamburgers were sold to those hungry for lunch while they shopped.
Members of VSBC extend thanks and appreciation for church and CDC staff members who volunteered their Saturday to make this event such a success. Hugs and tears could be seen as this final event surrounding the beloved day care came to a close.
