While colder temperatures outside returned to Louisville this weekend, the building was warm inside. More importantly, so was the fellowship of the members and guests of Vine Street warm and inviting to all who gathered.
The service began with Deacon Chandler Bainter reading Psalm 146 and saying a prayer. Worship Pastor Jacob Hatcher encouraged everyone to stand and sing, with a hint of Nashville in their voice, some classic hymns.
- I’ll Fly Away
- In the Sweet By and By
The congregation spent a few minutes greeting one another, with handshakes and hugs, and meeting new guests who came today. Associate Pastor Brandon Saunders continued the service with several announcements.
- Today’s sermon is from Hebrews.
- Tonight’s study continues through The Person of Jesus study.
- New Connect Cards are available. They are for guests and for regular attenders of Vine Street Baptist Church, and communicate prayer needs, feedback, or other information that the church office and Pastors need to know.
- Pastors Spencer and Brandon, along with one of the Deacons, attended a conference at a sister church this past weekend. They were challenged and encouraged by the theme and sessions, and will use the information in conjunction with how the Lord is leading the staff in the ministry of the local church.
Brandon called the ushers forward to collect the offering and said a prayer. While the offering was collected, Pastor Jacob introduced a new song, one that he wrote, and read from Ezekiel 37, then began singing.
- Dry Bones
- Before the Throne of God Above
