For the past several years, VSBC has partnered with Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child. Already, numerous members have been getting little items to put in the shoe boxes that will be wrapped and then shipped just in time for Christmas to children all over the world.
Boxes and wrapping paper are available in the Ladies Sunday School room if you would like to start pre-rapping the boxes. Instructions will be provided.
On November 18th, VSBC will culminate their OCC project by showing the brand new movie from Veggie Tales, St. Nicolas – A Story of Joyful Giving!, then will pack and wrap shoe boxes. Children from the SMART Kids program will participate alongside members. Leading up to this special Wednesday night, volunteers will canvas the neighborhood, inviting residents to come to this special event. Members and guests can bring items for the shoe boxes, or simply show up to help pack and wrap. Refreshments will be provided. Prizes will be awarded too!
