The anticipation for tonight’s special service, an Ordination Service, could be felt by members and guests of Vine Street Baptist Church this morning. Plans have been made and desserts have been prepared, but everyone was even more focused on worshiping the Lord through song and learning from His Word this morning.

The service began when Deacon Gary Cook read Isaiah 55:10-13 and said a prayer.  Jacob and Jaime Hatcher lead the gathered in singing Blessed Assurance, then encouraged everyone to greet one another in a time of fellowship.

Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon gave a few announcements, summarizing the service tonight and the availability of transportation to the Fall Family Festival, then said a prayer before the offering was collected.

While the offering plates were passed, the congregation sang more songs while Jacob played the guitar and Jaime played the piano.

  • Grace That is Greater
  • To God Be the Glory

Josh Bertsch read the entire scripture passage before Spencer brought today’s message.

Today’s message was the next in a series through the book of 2nd Corinthians. The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer.  Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
