Summer comes to a close, as does Vine Street’s summer sermon series, but members and guest were anxious to hear a word from the Lord again this week.

Deacon Donnie Aebersold opened the service when he read Psalm 24:1-6 and saying a prayer. Worship Leaders Jacob and Jaime Hatcher led the congregation in singing.

  • In the Garden
  • The Old Rugged Cross

After a few minutes greeting one another, Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon said a pastoral prayer and asked the ushers to collect today’s offering. While the plates were passed, Spencer presented a few announcements

  • Back to School Bash backpack packing today at 4:30pm
  • Person of Jesus Bible Study tonight at 6:00pm
  • Women’s Bible Study now meeting weekly on Tuesday
  • Back to School Bash on Wednesday this week

Spencer addressed some pastoral concerns, and said a prayer for those concerns. At the end of the prayer, singing continued.

  • O Praise the Name
  • I Need Thee Every Hour

Associate Pastor Brandon Saunders came to the platform to deliver today’s message.  The message concludes the Summer Stories sermon series. After the sermon, the congregation stood and sang Take My Life during a time of reflection. Brandon closed the service with an invitation for anyone to speak to a pastor after the service about church membership, becoming a Christian, or to discuss today’s sermon. He read a closing benediction passage, then dismissed the group.
